The earthquakes of magnitude 4.1 and 3.7 on the Richter scale were felt on Sunday, August 26, in the provinces of Manabí and Guayas respectively, towards the coast of Ecuador. Fortunately, no victims or material damages have been reported so far.
According to the Geophysical Institute, the earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred at 05-22 local time (10.22 GMT) at a depth of 5 kilometers and 28.31 kilometers from the city of Manta.
On the other hand, at 00.57 local time (05.57 GMT) occurred an earthquake of magnitude 3.7 at a depth of 61.28 kilometers in the province of Guayas, whose capital is Guayaquil. No damages have also been reported for this incidence.
